FIELD SURFACE
The Street Soccer pitch comprises of quality artificial turf flooring and 3.5 ft high walls.
Both the floor and walls comprise of the field of play and as such, the ball is still in play when it comes into contact with these surfaces. However, if the ball leaves the field of play (and when signaled as such by the referee), the ball will be deemed to be out and play will be restarted accordingly.
FIELD MARKINGS
The field is marked with two goal creases, and a halfway line. There are no touchlines because the walls surround the pitch. The goal line is between the goal posts and under the cross bar. The field of play is divided into two halves by a halfway line. There are no flagposts or corner arcs on the courts.
DIMENSIONS
- Size of court: 62 ft (long) x 42 ft (wide)
- Size of goals: 4 ft (tall) x 12 ft (wide).
GOAL AREAS
- The Penalty Area is a semi-circle with a 10 ft radius
SUBSTITUTION ZONE
- The team box (bench) is considered the "Substitution Zone."
- The teams are only permitted to use the door in front of the substitution zone for their players to enter/exit the field of play.
- Jumping over the wall is not permitted.
- The door must be closed again immediately after players enter/exit the field.
THE BALL
- U3-U7 will use a size 3 futsal ball.
- U9-U12 will use a size 4 futsal ball.
- U13+ will use a size 5 futsal ball.
TEAMS
- Roster minimum of 4.
- Roster maximum of 10.
- Maximum of 4 players per team on the court, consisting of 3 outfield players and 1 goalkeeper.
- Maximum of 6 substitute players.
DURATION OF MATCHES
- Two halves of 14 minutes each.
- Halftime is 2 minutes
PLAYER RULES
- No Headers.
- No playing with both hands on the walls.
- No playing the ball by a player on the ground.
- A team can have no more than 3 total players in it's own half at all times, and a foul will be awarded otherwise. 3 violations will result in a penalty kick.
GOALKEEPER RULES
- The goalkeeper can score goals.
- The goalkeeper can leave the penalty area and play on the field, including the attacking half.
- The goalkeeper cannot re-enter the penalty area with the ball once he/she has left the penalty area, and must give up possession of the ball before re-entering.
- The goalkeeper cannot hold the ball longer than 5 seconds in the penalty area.
- The goalkeeper cannot roll the ball to itself after a goal has been conceded or a dead ball.
- The goalkeeper cannot use it's hands outside the penalty area. A violation results in a penalty kick.
- The "no pass back" rule applies. The goalkeeper cannot pick up a ball passed back from a teammate. A violation results in a penalty kick.
PENALTY AREA RULES
- Field players cannot enter the penalty area. The rules applies to both attacking and defending players.
- If a player from the defending team enters the penalty area, the other team receives a penalty kick.
- If a player from the offensive team enters the penalty area, the play is blown dead and the ball restarts with the goalkeeper.
STOPPAGES
- The game clock is continual, and will only be stopped for injuries.
- If a penalty kick is awarded and time expires before the penalty kick is taken, the penalty kick will be the last play of the half.
PENALTY KICKS
- When a player from the defending team enters the penalty area.
- When the goalkeeper holds the ball longer than 5 seconds in the penalty area.
- When the goalkeeper picks up a pass back from their own team.
- Every time a team accumulates 3 fouls for too many players in the defensive half.
- Every time a team accumulates 3 fouls for using 2 hands on the walls at the same time.
FREE KICKS & OUT OF BOUNDS
- All free kicks are indirect.
- The opposing team shall be a minimum of 5 feet away.
- The referee shall whistle the restart of play.
- The ball is out of bounds when it goes out of the field of play.
- If the ball goes behind the goal by the attacking team, the goalkeeper receives the ball and rolls it back into play.
- If the ball goes behind the goal by the defending team, the attacking team receives a corner and rolls the ball into play.
